BlackBerry yesterday, September 18th has announced their popular messenger BBM for Android and iPhone. The BBM for Android and iPhone will be available for free download from Google Play Store and Apple App Store beginning September 21st.
It was rumored earlier that BBM will be available exclusively for Samsung devices for first three months, but now after the official announcement it is confirmed that BBM will be available for all Android device. For installing BBM on your Android device you will need Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean version running on the device, and for iPhone you will need iOS 6 or 7.
While BBM for Android will be available for download from September 21st, BBM for iOS will be available from September 22nd. You will also be able download BBM for Android and iPhone from www.BBM.com.
BlackBerry also said in their press release that BBM will also provide BBM channels that will involve free conversations with people who share same interests and thoughts. BBM for Android and iPhone will only include BBM Chat, BBM Video calling and BBM Audio calling features will be included in future version of BBM for Android and iPhone.
