Lost Chapters HD is prequel to the popular game Lost Islands HD. While Lost Islands HD is about the survival of travellers on an unknown tropical island, Lost Chapters HD is about a team of scientists and explorers who go to a mysterious island in search of ancient artifacts.
The game is full of adventure and fun, you have to set up a camp and settle on the island so as to continue with your findings of the unknown. Lost Chapters HD is available for Android and iOS for free. Lets tell you what all you will find in the Lost Chapters HD.
Starting up with Lost Chapters HD
When you first run the game you don’t get any tutorial to learn how to play, instead you will see conversations between the team members who came to the island. The conversations are designed in such a way that you will get to know how to get along with the game. At the beginning you will see a dense forest on the island and in order to explore the island you will be clearing the forest to churn out resources you will need to settle on the island. And you will be doing all this in a virtual environment, you are not causing any harm to our environment. Starting up with the game gives you enough resources to begin your exploration on the island.
The Interface
Lost Chapters HD presents the users with a very easy to use game-interface. On top-left you will find your current level and your progress to the next level, top-center will show the amount of Food, Water and Wood you have at present, top-right shows you the number of diamonds and coins in your possession. Below the level and progress indicator you will find the current task you have to complete. At the bottom of the screen there is Settings option and Friends option. Friends option is used to connect to your Facebook friends. Friends options is also accessible under Settings.
At the bottom right, you will find several options, Current progresses, Storage, option to move buildings around the island, and Shop. In Shop option, you can make your purchases using the virtual money and diamonds you have in your possession. You can build Lab, Well, Kitchen and many other buildings for your use, you can buy resources you need to explore the island, or you can buy virtual money and diamonds from the Bank using real money via Google Play.
While every task earns you a reward, including coins, food, water and other resources, you can also get free diamonds by completing certain actions. Diamonds help completing the tasks instantly, so you won’t have to wait for the well to fetch 5 units of water in more than 1 hour or you won’t have to wait for the Laboratory to be built in 2 hours.
The game is optimized for both phones and tablets. On bigger tablet displays the menus appear smaller compared to those in mobile phones. We tried the game on Android phone, Android tablet and an iPad. There haven’t been any issues in playing the game on either of these three devices.
The Gameplay
As already told, the game is about exploring the mysterious island, you will have to be strategic in what should be your next move. When you will be playing to complete multiple tasks you will find yourself out of food or water to do any action, that leaves you to wait for more food or water to complete the next set of actions. Different tasks may ask for different resources for completion, so you also have to manage your resources strategically. There will be times you will find the game too slow when there will be no food and water left.
In Lost Chapters HD, you will build different buildings like Laboratory, Engineering setup, Converter, Warehouse, Greenhouse and more. You have options to decorate island with many items of decoration, including Seashells, statue of Arachnis (Ancient statue of Spider), Wind Temple and many more. You will also be setting up many scientific equipments that will help you in your exploration, including Radar, Sonar and others. While exploring the island you will face some deadly creatures and will also meet natives of the island.
Conclusion
Overall, the game is a nice play but at several instances it will leave you bored when you are out of all the food and water. Keeping in view the size of the whole island, we can’t even guess how long it would take to explore the whole island. The game runs smoothly on all the devices we tried it on. Lost Chapters HD is highly addictive, you will always be curious to find out what will happen next or what else is there on the mysterious island.
